The CAHN-Pro Board of Directors consists of several dedicated professionals from across the country, ensuring our members have access to the best information where they live and work. Our board contains leading holistic nutrition professionals who understand the best approach for working in our field, as well as those who can provide our members with accounting, legal, medical, business and marketing information. Our board members share a passionate belief in holistic nutrition and are determined to see that holistic nutrition professionals gain the recognition and jobs they seek.

Lorene Sauro BA RHN
Registered Holistic Nutritionist and a teacher at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition for 15 years, writer, speaker, recipe developer and food professional for more than 25 years, Lorene specializes in restoring digestive and intestinal health. Her passion is helping people find the foods and food preparations that work best for them.
She has worked with hundreds of clients to help them achieve better well-being and optimal health.
Lorene believes we should not have to give up foods we love – we all just need solutions to help us fix the issues we may have or learn the keys to prevention. Lorene offers classes, nutrition counselling and online support to clients and group. She is the author of the well-received A Pastry Queen Goes Green, a guide to baking and working with whole grains and whole sweeteners.
She founded the Canadian Holistic Nutrition Conference and has hosted baking classes, fermentation workshops and nutrition seminars and webinars. She is also a co-founder and director of the Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Practitioners (CAHN-Pro), a non-profit association dedicated to bringing standards and recognition to the holistic nutrition profession and developing professional training programs for its members.
Lorene currently continues to teach, run programs and host workshops, live and online.

Jessica Sherman BA BEd MA RHN
Jess is a former teacher turned Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Family Health Educator, specializing in nutrition for brain health & resilience for kids. For over 10 years she has worked alongside Naturopathic and Medical Doctors, Family Counsellors & Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, teachers and parents to bring an understanding of the power of good nutrition, simplicity and connection into mainstream conversation about children’s mental health, learning, and resilience. She is the author of Raising Resilience: take the stress out of feeding your family and love your life.
Lori Kennedy BA RHN
Lori Kennedy is the founder and CEO of The Wellness Business Hub, the leader of Team LK, and the host of the Business Of Becoming podcast.
Lori holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences from Concordia University. She graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.
Lori is an original CAHN-Pro member and started her volunteer activities with the organization at the very beginning.

Mirela Cojoaca BChEng RHN
Mirela holds a Chemical Engineering Bachelor’s degree from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist who graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) in 2015. Since then she has been a member of the Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Professionals (CAHN-Pro) and is serving on the Board of Directors from 2018.
She previously worked for 10 years at York University as Center Coordinator of the York Institute for Health Research (YIHR), bringing to the table excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, strong work ethics, creativity and critical thinking.
With a lifelong passion for living healthy and using alternative therapies to support the human body’s innate abilities to heal itself, Mirela is on a mission to identify and address nutritional imbalances that prevent people from enjoying vibrant health. Her goal is to educate and empower individuals with the knowledge needed to actively participate in their own care.
She provides nutrition consulting at ONE Health Services clinic in Toronto and in the comfort of her client’s homes, both in-person and on-line. Mirela loves spending time in nature, gardening or in the kitchen, producing healthy versions of traditional recipes.

After graduation in 2009 she immediately became a member of CAHN-Pro. She started as an apprentice and is now proud to sit on the Board of Directors as Secretary where she brings her strong administrative and organization skills. She has been in the food industry for over 20 years, working in cafes, camps, restaurants and bakeries. Her passion is baking with a background in the hospitality industry. She believes that every Canadian has the right to quality nutrition education, to eat healthy and feel great.
Katie Reitsma RHN
Andrea Sevsek MSc RHN MI(cand)
Andrea is a board-certified holistic nutrition professional who is passionate about cultivating a knowledge and wisdom sharing culture for the benefit of all. In addition to being a graduate of CSNN, Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Organic Chemistry and a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Nutritional Sciences, both from the University of Toronto. She has over 25 years’ experience in the health field, including fitness and pharmaceutical industries. She is a past Certified Fitness Assessor, group fitness instructor and personal trainer. She is a former CSNN teacher of Fundamentals of Nutrition, Cellular Biology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, and workshops on various topics. She was also one of CSNN’s science writers, having been involved in rewriting and updating student workbooks, and in developing test questions for the online learning division.
Andrea has worked with clients one-on-one and in group settings, done many corporate presentations, and created an online business — NutritionPro Mentor, an online mentorship program developed to provide support, guidance and continuing education. While learning to set up her own online business, she discovered she has a hidden talent for website design, which led her to explore this field and to work with holistic practitioners to build their websites. She has built this new website for CAHN-Pro.
In order to expand her expertise in online learning, Andrea is back at the University of Toronto, pursuing a Master of Information degree with concentrations in knowledge management, information management, and user experience design.
When she’s not learning new things, Andrea keeps busy with freelance contracts for website design, part-time work at University of Toronto’s Online Learning Strategies division, and imagining the next evolution for NutritionPro Mentor. Her ongoing quest is the enjoyment of lifelong youthful vitality without compromising the simple pleasures of life along the way.
Meredith MacKay RHN
Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Meredith also holds a Masters degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Toronto, as well as a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Prince Edward Island. She is the founder of Eat Move Thrive – Nutritional Counseling and Personal Training and has recently relocated from Toronto back to her hometown of Charlottetown, PEI. She is lead researcher for ongoing the Holistic Nutrition Pilot Study on Non- Insulin Diabetes and Physiotherapy and Nutrition Study currently getting in development. She is also the co- creator of the documentation standards for CAHN-Pro
Anja Dalglish RHN
Mark McGuinney BSc RHN
Mark’s passion for nutrition began when he graduated from Trent University with a Bachelor of Science. His years since university have seen him working in the fast paced, exciting and stressful position of rail traffic controller at CN rail. His time with the company has given him a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding shift work and its effect on wellness. Over the years he’s helped co-workers with problems that are all too common to shift work, including; weight management issues, maintaining energy levels, eating healthy on the go and at odd hours, and sleep issues. Marks work experience makes him an asset to organizations involved with shift work. While working full time at CN, Mark went back to school to focus his passion for nutrition. Graduating as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) in 2005, Mark has enjoyed exploring various avenues to demonstrate the benefits of holistic nutrition. Mark has also published nutrition articles in the health / wellness magazine CHECK UP and sees clients at his private practice in Toronto and teaches healthy cooking classes .
Debbie Scallion RHN
Registered Holisitc Nutritionist. She received her diploma from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Vancouver BC. Her focus is healing with whole foods and bringing the body into balance through a holistic approach. She is passionate about natural health and believes that the prevention of degenerative diseases begins with our relationship with food.
Her interest in natural health began in childhood. She witnessed the effects of proper nutrition and supplements as they drastically improved the health of her family. Prior to becoming an RHN, Debbie spent several years counselling women who were in crisis. Through that work, she naturally developed a very empathetic and supportive approach with her clients. She conducts workshops in her community on health and healing and strives to continually increase the awareness of the power of food.
Debbie enjoys an active lifestyle, which includes yoga, cycling and hiking in local mountains. She also loves singing and playing music.
Jennifer Sexton RHN
A bilingual Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) and Honours graduate from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. She is also a member of the extended Board of the Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Professionals (CAHN-Pro).
She established Sunnyside Nutrition with the intention of empowering clients to understand more about what healthy eating means for them and how to tune in to their own body in order to increase vitality and wellbeing.
Jennifer’s professional background includes 20 years in the communications, public relations and government relations fields. She brings her passion for communicating to her Nutrition practice, providing clients with holistic nutrition counsel and support for body, mind and spirit.
In addition to her RHN designation, Jennifer holds a B.A. (Honours) from Queen’s University, and a Diplôme de Langue, Littérature et Civilsation from the Université d’Aix-Marseille III in Aix-en-Provence, France.
Barbara Rempel BSc RHN
Barbara has been a natural health practitioner and educator in Calgary, Alberta, for over 13 years. She is board certified in Practical Holistic Nutrition. Barbara is an author and an essential oils advocate.

Helen Blanchard RHN
Helen’s journey into the world of natural nutrition and supplements began in the 1980s when she was dealing with chronic illness. It wasn’t until 2015 that she enrolled in the natural nutrition program at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Helen has taken her previous work experience as both a corporate paralegal and an education program assistant and combined this with her training as a holistic nutrition professional. She now proofreads and edits holistic material. Helen has been the editor of the CAHN-Pro newsletter since December of 2018.
