Board Certification Process
All professions have a board certification process. This process allows our profession to show that our members are professionals who understand their scope of practice, code of ethics, and professionalism. This enables CAHN-Pro to speak for members and assure insurance companies, government, and other practitioners that we adhere to the same strong standards, similar to all other professions, even though we are a self-regulated profession.
Our board certification process now has an added benefit. Members can earn the Certified Functional Nutrition Practitioner Designation, which comes with additional benefits, such as access to non-diagnostic screening tests and reduced member renewal rates.
You join as a standard member and receive all member benefits. When you’re ready to be board-certified for the new designation, you can access the two tests required to qualify. A course is offered to those who need to know more about non-diagnostic screening tests and how they fit into our scope of practice.
Standard Membership
Members who have graduated from a recognized school join and work towards board certification. Standard members must maintain their membership by achieving 25 hours of educational or practical upgrading a year.

Note: Members who have passed their board certification exam receive a discounted rate of $255.00 per year.
New Graduate Membership
Members who have graduated from a recognized school join and work towards board certification. Members must maintain their membership by achieving 25 hours of educational or practical upgrading a year.
Note: Must apply for membership within six months of graduation to be eligible for the New Graduate discount.

Associate Membership
Members who wish to stay involved with the profession but may not be working in the field. Associate Members may be holistic nutritionists, students or other professionals.

Refund Policy: Membership fees can be refunded within 30 days of processing a membership application/renewal. A 50% refund is available within the first 3 months.
